Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who are you?
Upstream Theater is a professional production company dedicated to presenting new works and inventive stagings of classical plays, with a special focus on joint ventures involving artists from other countries. We offer a theater that is spiritual and sentient, witty and engaged, multilayered and syncretic. Our goal is to move you, and to move you to think. Our outreach has three prime aims: to offer St. Louis audiences an international perspective in theater, to engage local communities from cultures outside the United States, and to help develop younger audiences.

2. Where are you located?
We are now performing in two venues: The Kranzberg Arts Center in Grand Center, located here, and the Little Theatre on the Park, at 305 S. Skinker Blvd., located here.

3. How do I purchase tickets?
You may purchase in advance by credit card through brownpapertickets.org or at the box office one hour before the show. For group rates or press tickets please write us at upstreamtheater@sbcglobal.net.

4. May I reserve tickets without paying?
We no longer accept advance reservations without payment. Please visit brownpapertickets.org to purchase tickets. If you are unable to purchase online please contact us at 314-863-4999.

a. For the Kranzberg, you may request a pass in advance that will give you a discount at the Scottish Rite Parking Lot. There is also on-street parking or you may use one of the available paid lots in the Grand Center District.
b. For 305 S. Skinker, you may park free of charge in the Missouri Historical Society lot across the street on Fauquier, or else on the street.

For specific guidelines, or to send a headshot and resume, please contact Carrie Houk, Director of Casting, at houkcast@mac.com.

At present we do not have the staff to read all scripts submitted, but inquiries are accepted at upstreamtheater@sbcglobal.net. Familiarity with the mission of the company is appreciated in all solicitations.
